WHAT WILL WE DO IN THAT 1 HR CONSULT?

We’ll get grounded in who you are, what you want/needanswer any questions you have, and discuss strategies to fill the gaps between what you know and what you do on a day to day basis for your health. We’ll set up a plan to move you forward and discuss what level of accountability you need for ongoing progress.

  • Most people benefit from 3-4 additional 30-45 minute sessions for follow up, additional support, tweaking their plan and/or answering questions that come up along the way.

WHERE DO WE MEET?

Video or phone call for all consultations. After your request for an appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email with a link to a HIPAA secured video chat.

WHAT DOES NON-DIET MEAN?

As Geneen Roth so aptly says "...when a woman's energy is tied up in judging her body, it ties up her power as well."

With my background in both psychology and nutritional biochemistry, I have learned and researched the long term effects that restrictive and fad diets have on your brain and your body. Working with hundreds of clients over the years, I've seen that people can make a scale move by doing a wide variety of things that don’t actually benefit them or their health long term.

I am a Health At Every Size practitioner who utilizes Intuitive Eating concepts and believes that your health evolves as you grow in critical awareness, respect and compassion of yourself, your body, and the dynamic world around you.

DO YOU WORK ONLY WITH WOMEN?

I specialize in areas of life stages including fertility, PCOS, prenatal/postnatal nutrition and menopause because these are the areas that most people are more aware of how their relationship to food/body is shifting and changing. No matter how you identify, if you are experiencing any of the aboveAND, I have been a dietitian for over 10 years working with union workers on the shop floor, business executives, and parents at all ages/stages so if you are curious if we are a good fit for each other, please sign up for a free 15 minute consult!

HOW DOES A FOOD AND BODY THERAPIST DIFFER FROM TALKING TO A TRADITIONAL DIETITIAN?

Traditional outpatient or dietitian consultations involve you being on the receiving end of a lot of information and knowledge about food and nutrition. Food Therapy is aimed at evolving your fundamental relationship with food and your body. Just as in successful therapy sessions of any kind, you will share where you are coming from, what you already know and spend time uncovering what you need more of in order to put that knowledge into action and continually transform your relationship with food, your body, and the dynamic world around you.
